IDE participated in the Amboise XVIII experimentation event, held south of Paris on 2–3 June 2026, in its role as Coordinator of the European Defence Fund (EDF) PROTEAS Project. Organized by the French Special Operations Command (Commandement des Opérations Spéciales – COS) and the French Directorate General of Armament (Direction générale de l’armement – DGA), the event brought together a limited number of invited stakeholders to explore innovative defence capabilities, including IMPACT and RME.
As part of the event, the PROTEAS DACAS demonstration was conducted as a dedicated activity within the broader Amboise XVIII experimentation program, focusing on the demonstration of PROTEAS Use Case 6. It included an operational demonstration of an approaching aircraft exchanging information with the DACAS ground-based Command and Control (C2) software, as well as presentations on selected Amboise experimentation activities and innovation stands visits together with French partners. For the demonstration, the French Armed Forces provided a Rafale fighter aircraft configured with DACAS capabilities, alongside a Mirage 2000 aircraft.
The event also offered the opportunity for extensive discussions between IDE, IMPACT, DGA and the French Special Operations Command on the potential development of a PROTEAS II Project and their intention to support this initiative, reflecting the strong interest generated by the successful implementation of the current PROTEAS Project.
Having achieved all major milestones to date, PROTEAS has entered its final 2 months, with the remaining demonstration activities scheduled to take place in October 2026, followed by the Final Review Meeting at the end of November 2026, marking the completion of the project.
