In the frame of briefing in primary and significant industrial activities and infrastructures οf the country in the field of defense and security, the student-officers of the Hellenic Air Force Command and Staff College (AFCSC) visited INTRACOM DEFENSE (IDE) facilities, accompanied by staff officers. The AFCSC provides general and specific, theoretical and practical training to student-officers with the aim of developing and improving their professional competence to become capable executives for the mission achieving of the Hellenic Air Force.
Senior IDE executives welcomed the student-officers and informed them about LOTUS – the European Low Observable Tactical Unmanned Air System, which is being implemented in the frame of EDIDP 2019, funded by the European Union and the MoDs of Greece and Cyprus, and coordinated by IDE with wide Greek participation in the project’s Consortium.
Furthermore, IDE presented its Missile Systems products and services, being in service by the Hellenic Air Force and mainly exported to major international manufacturers. It has also been highlighted that domestic industrial participation in new defense systems procurement or existing ones modernization programs, enhances the maintenance and support capabilities of these systems.
