INTRACOM DEFENSE supports MIL DRONE CHALLENGE 2026

INTRACOM DEFENSE supported the MIL DRONE CHALLENGE 2026, an international educational initiative organized by the Hellenic Air Force Academy under the Military Erasmus (EMILYO) framework and the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).

Held from 13–16 July 2026, the competition brought together seven teams from military academies and higher education institutions across Europe to design, develop and test innovative Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), with their projects assessed by an international panel of military officers and academics from Greece, Poland, Portugal and Norway, reinforcing the event’s high standards and international character.

As part of its contribution, IDE donated technological equipment to support the successful implementation of the competition, reflecting the company’s commitment to advancing defence innovation and supporting initiatives that inspire the next generation of engineers and defence professionals.

During the awards ceremony, Mr. Efstathios Karagiannis, Chief Commercial Officer at IDE, highlighted the importance of closer cooperation between industry, academia and research institutions, noting that such partnerships are essential for fostering innovation and strengthening the defence industrial ecosystem. He also underlined IDE’s continued investment in research, emerging technologies and people, reaffirming the company’s commitment to strengthening the domestic defence industry and advancing technological excellence.
