Intracom Defense (IDE) announces the appointment of Lykourgos Antonopoulos as Chief Executive Officer, marking the next phase in the company’s development as part of the Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI).
His appointment supports IDE’s strategic priorities of strengthening its position as a leading Greek defense technology company, expanding its international presence, accelerating innovation and further developing its capabilities in integrated defense solutions and advanced technologies.

Mr. Antonopoulos brings more than 30 years of executive and technology sector experience spanning telecommunications, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), systems integration, critical infrastructure and advanced technology. He has served as Chief Commercial Officer for the Business Segment of COSMOTE TELEKOM, a member of its Management Board, managing a strategic Business Unit with a large team of people and a significant business portfolio, encompassing telecommunications services and large-scale systems integration projects and activities. During his tenure in OTE group, he played a central role in building and developing the Group’s ICT business into one of the region’s leading systems integration operations, while expanding its activities beyond Greece.
Mr. Antonopoulos has a strong track record in business transformation, international business development, strategic partnerships and the successful delivery of large-scale, mission-critical technology programs for major public and private-sector organizations, as well as European institutions in Greece and internationally. He holds an MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business, an MSc in Telecommunication Technology from Aston University, an MSc in Avionics from Cranfield University, and a BEng (Hons) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Central England.
