INTRACOM Defense Electronics signed a € 6,7 mil. contract with GENERAL DYNAMICS UK for WISPR Intercommunication systems

January 19, 2009: INTRACOM Defense Electronics, a subsidiary of Intracom Holdings, signed a € 6,7 million contract with GENERAL DYNAMICS UK for the procurement of its WISPR Intercommunication System and WISPR Secure Wireless Local Area Network (WISPR-WLAN). The contract is part of an international modernization program of military vehicles and their respective communications infrastructures. INTRACOM Defense Electronics was selected among major international industry peers while the WISPR system is already established and currently in use in a number of countries worldwide.

WISPR will be integrated into a range of tracked and wheeled vehicles, providing vehicular crew intercommunications as well as controlling other communications infrastructure. Furthermore, WISPR-WLAN systems will provide the means for wireless local area networking for Command, Control and Information systems, offering wideband, secure voice and data transfer needed for situational awareness.
