F-16 Radar aircraft modules produced in Greece by INTRACOM Defense Electronics

December 11, 2006: INTRACOM Defense Electronics has signed a contract with NORTHROP GRUMMAN for the production of electronic modules of the most modern version V9 of APG-68 Radar for the F-16 Block 52+ aircraft supplied to the Hellenic Air Force. The initial contract budget is in the order of $ 2 million with a prospective to increase according to future allocation of additional work worth of $ 8 million. The implementation of the project will be completed within one year and is the continuation of successful collaboration of the two companies in the Defense sector.

The excellent infrastructure, the extensive experience and advanced know-how of INTRACOM Defense Electronics provide the capability for the production in Greece of the high technology Radar modules for F-16 aircraft at its premises. At the same time, the know-how that will be acquired by the Radar co-production will provide INTRACOM Defense Electronics with the possibility to both export and participate in future upgrades and modernization of older Radar versions for the Hellenic Air Force, as well as for international customers.

It is worth mentioning that this agreement further expands INTRACOM Defense Electronics activities in the field of electronic systems for aerospace applications and company’s participation in development and production of missile systems (telemetry systems, guidance section’s electronics, power supply systems, field test stations), as well as aircraft Self-Protection systems.
