IDE has been awarded a contract by KNDS Germany for the supply of WiSPRevo Communication and Information System (CIS), to equip newly manufactured LEOPARD 2A8 Main Battle Tanks for the international market.
The agreement strengthens further the long-standing cooperation between KNDS and IDE and expands the presence of WiSPRevo on one of the world’s most highly regarded main battle tank platforms. This integration brings together two advanced European defense technologies: the engineering excellence and advanced capabilities of the LEOPARD 2A8 MBT combined with the next-generation digital communications and networking technology of WiSPRevo CIS.
A key feature of WiSPRevo, its world-leading Dynamic Noise Reduction (DNR) technology, makes it the optimum choice of End-Users who insist on safeguarding the Health & Safety of their operators, and their situation awareness in field operations. The system enables crew communications of high intelligibility and significantly reduced environmental noise in the extremely demanding acoustic environment of armored platforms, while providing an effective protection against hearing damage and enhanced situation awareness to the platform operators, in compliance with EU Directive 2003/10/EC.
The contract also reinforces IDE’s growing participation in armored vehicle programs for NATO End-Users. Through WiSPRevo, IDE continues to support the digital transformation of modern land platforms, providing an architecture designed to evolve alongside new tactical radios, C2 applications, sensors and computing technologies throughout the system life-cycle, enabling straightforward adaptation to future changes and upgrades in communication subsystems and C4ISR capabilities.
