INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS hosted the international Military Vetronics Association (MILVA) meeting – The company was selected to participate in the German SPRINT Program

 INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS hosted on its premises, the international Military Vetronics Association (MILVA) Meeting, held for the first time in Greece, from May 29 to June 1. During the meeting, INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS presented its technology for integrated intercommunication and wireless wide-area network platforms.

MILVA, presided by the representative of the Federal Office of Defense Technology and Procurement of the Federal Republic of Germany – BWB, promotes international cooperation among member-countries of NATO and Partners For Peace (PFP). Furthermore, MILVA is a forum for scientific dialogue among its members and the international defense industry regarding the incorporation of technological developments in electronic systems, applications and subsystems of fighting and logistics vehicles.

The meeting was attended by the official delegations of the Defense Ministries of the Association’s member-countries (UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland, USA, Italy, Canada, South Africa, Netherlands, Sweden and the Czech Republic) as well as international defense industry representatives. High level officials from the Hellenic Ministry of Defense also attended the government meeting.

It is worth mentioning that during the meeting it was announced that WISPR-WLAN communication system of INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS has been selected for the German SPRINT (Systronics Project on Intelligent Network Technologies) R&D Program. This program concerns the evaluation and qualification of new technologies and systems in military vehicles operating in the digital battlefield, aiming to exploit them in new production and modernization programs.

On June 13, the respective Contract for the installation study and the implementation of WISPR-WLAN in two pilot vehicles of the German Ministry of Defense, for the amount of 250.000 € was signed between DIEHL BGT DEFENCE, as contractor to BWB, and INTRACOM DEFENSE ELECTRONICS.
